We bought Amber when she was 4 months old a couple of months after we  had gotten Buddy.  As a youngster, Amber had a classic case of the Aussie  'uglies', but she did finally mature into a beautiful Aussie girl at about 2 yrs  old.  As an 'only' child Buddy was absolutely thrilled to have his very own  playmate that could actually keep up with him (you know, mom and dad are  just soooooo slow!).  Boy was she quick!

She could run circles around Buddy and was about the fastest, most agile dog we'd ever seen......as a matter of  fact, she could clear a 5 ft. fence from a standstill and never even touch the fence.  She also was the first Aussie I'd ever seen that did the 'wigglebutt  and 'grin', and the first time she did that we thought she was having a seizure  or something!

Her father was a working ranch dog and several years ago we had her instinct tested and took some herding lessons on goats, but since we lived so far away from where we could train at we never got to pursue a herding career with her.  She's quite the lazy couch potato now and prefers to spend her time lounging around, chasing cows down the fenceline or just wrestling with her 'baby' Quigley.
