BORDER COLLIES
Luna is a Border Collie
rescue we got several years ago and boy has she come a long way in the Frisbee
Dog world since then!!!
This little girl lives
and breathes for Frisbee (aka, Luna the Lunatic!) and her and Brian have
won several local and national competitions with their awesome long distance
throws and freestyle routine.

Crockett is our black/white
Border Collie who came to live with us in May, 2002. He was a referral
rescue who needed a new home, and with his high hunt and retrieve drive
I figured we could find something for him to do.
Being used to having only
Australian Shepherds, having a Border Collie around the house with all
their quirky habits and obsessions was something interesting to say the
least! But he's such a smart
and unique dog that every day with Crockett is always something new.
We started off training
him for search & rescue, which he did fairly good at, however due
to the distance we had to go to train and my work schedule, this just
wasn't something we could continue to pursue. He's always loved
playing frisbee though, so after last year's UFO competition (11/02),
Brian decided to join the local team (Houston Frisbee Dogs) and see what
he and Crockett could do. Then in January '03, we had Crockett's
hips x-rayed and they unfortunately discovered he was very dysplastic. Undaunted
though, he and Brian continued to practice a frisbee routine that was
within Crockett's comfort zone, which definately means no flips, vaults,
jumps, etc. Not the flashiest routine but they both have fun anyway!
~ NEWS FLASH ~
At the end of the 2003
UFO (United Frisbee Organization) season (11/03), Crockett and Brian are
now ranked #49 in the world!!
After the 2003 frisbee
season, Crockett's hips really started causing him a lot of pain while playing
frisbee, so we retired him and he is happily living the good life of of a
house dog and playing a little frisbee for fun every once in awhile.
