Once in a lifetime there comes a dog that becomes your heart and soul, and our first Aussie, Buddy, was definately it.  He was my best friend for the short 11 yrs he was on this earth with us and we still miss him very, very much.  I loved him so much, so much it still hurts to think about him, and he will never, ever be forgotten.  He was one of a kind that could never be replaced, in either body or spirit.   I'm so happy we got the chance to have him for the time we did have together......

We miss you big boy!

Buddy is our first Aussie and in my opinion (which isn't biased by the way!) is a true representation of the breed....he's the most intelligent, loving, sociable, active, charming, protective, versatile (and stubborn) dog that ever walked the face of the earth and we love him very, very dearly. He was *supposed* to be my husband's dog (hence the name BK's Buddy), but he wiggled and charmed his way into my heart very early and is still today very much a "mama's" boy.  After seeing Aussies for the first time on a ranch near where we lived, we immediately fell in love with the breed and started searching for a black tri female. I even went as far as putting a deposit down on a black tri female, but when the day came to go pick her up, here was this little odd-colored merled boy sitting patiently at my feet staring at me with the strangest colored eyes I'd ever seen (half blue, half brown), waiting for me to pay attention to him. I swear he actually understands what I say to him and will listen to a conversation better than most people!  Needless to say, he was the one that went home with me that day and we have never regretted it since.

Right from the start, Buddy taught us many, many things such as how to play ball and frisbee, no matter what the time or weather, and how to give him treats when he brought it back (over and over and over.....). We also think he has "OCD" when it comes to playing ball and frisbee....he eats with it, sleeps with it, etc...and if I had a nickel for every time I've thrown it for him we'd be millionaires many times over.

Buddy is what started our passion with Aussies, and is also what inspired us to start doing rescue work for those Aussies less fortunate than our own.
